Overview

Welcome to PlayPCKL. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our websites, mobile applications, and services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

PlayPCKL Membership (Subscriptions)

A PlayPCKL account is free. Joining club leagues, creating a league draft, and registering for tournaments do not require a membership. A PlayPCKL Membership is an optional, auto-renewing subscription that lets you join community leagues and open registration for community leagues you organize.

Plans and price. The membership is offered monthly or annually. In the United States the prices are $0.99 per month and $9.99 per year. Prices in other countries and currencies may differ. The current price and billing period are shown before you confirm a purchase. Club league fees and tournament entry fees are separate and are not covered by a membership.
Automatic renewal. Your membership renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your payment method is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
Purchases in the iPhone app. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings (on iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions). Purchases made through the App Store are also subject to Apple's terms and policies.
Purchases on the web. Payment is processed by our payment processor, Stripe. You can manage or cancel the subscription in PlayPCKL under Profile, PlayPCKL membership, Manage subscription.
Cancellation. When you cancel, your membership stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for and does not renew. We do not provide partial refunds for unused time in a billing period, except where required by law.
Refunds. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policies; you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. For web purchases, contact us at hello@playpckl.com. If a payment is refunded in full, the membership ends when the refund is issued.
Where to manage it. A membership is managed where it was bought: an App Store membership through Apple, and a web membership through PlayPCKL on the web. Either one gives the same access on every PlayPCKL app and on the web.
Price changes. If the price of your plan changes, we or Apple will notify you in advance as required, and the new price applies from your next renewal. You can cancel before it takes effect.
Payment issues. If a renewal payment fails, we may keep your access for a short grace period while the payment is retried. If payment is not completed, the membership ends.
Deleting your account. If you delete your account, a membership bought on the web is canceled immediately and is not refunded. A membership bought through the App Store is billed by Apple and is not canceled by deleting your account; cancel it in your Apple Account settings.

User Accounts

Upon creating an account, we will generate a user profile to enhance your experience. Refer to the Privacy Policy for detailed information on how we will utilize your data.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and keep this information up to date.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Services.
You can initiate permanent account deletion at any time in the PlayPCKL app under Profile, Delete account. We remove sign-in access and delete or replace associated personal information. Past league and tournament results can remain under “Deleted player” to keep shared competition records connected. Manual follow-up with service providers completes within 30 days, with completion confirmation sent to your verified account email. Limited records may be retained for specific obligations, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Communications

When you open an account, you consent to receive communications from us including newsletters, event reminders, partner notifications, and promotional offers via email or push notifications.
We never send marketing or promotional text messages. Text messages are only about leagues and tournaments you take part in.
Tournament and league communications (registration confirmations, schedule updates, match reminders, partner invitations) are considered transactional and may be sent regardless of your marketing preferences. League text messages are covered in the League Registration and Text Messages sections below.
You can modify your communication preferences in your account settings at any time.

Tournament Registration

Tournament registrations are subject to the specific rules, refund policies, and terms set by each tournament director.
We collect information from your account and share it with tournament directors and event organizers to facilitate your registration and participation.
You are responsible for reviewing and agreeing to any event-specific policies before completing registration.
Partner invitations sent through our platform are your responsibility. Ensure you have consent before inviting someone to be your doubles partner.

League Registration

Leagues are run by the club or organizer that hosts them. League fees, rules, schedules and policies are set by that organizer.
When you register for a league, or a league organizer registers you, you agree to receive text messages (SMS) about that league at the mobile number on your PlayPCKL profile or the number you gave your organizer. These include match reminders, schedule and lineup changes, substitute requests, and messages from your organizer about the league.
You can stop league text messages at any time, as described under Text Messages below. Stopping texts does not cancel your league registration.
If you register players for a league as an organizer, you confirm that each player agreed to join the league and to receive league text messages as described in these Terms.

Text Messages

PlayPCKL sends league and tournament text messages on behalf of the organizers who run them. We never send marketing or promotional text messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. You can also turn off league texts in the PlayPCKL app under Profile, Communications. Once you opt out, we won't text you again unless you turn texts back on yourself.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Tournament Directors

If you use PlayPCKL as a tournament director:

You are responsible for all players you register on behalf of and must have their consent to do so.
You are responsible for setting and communicating your event's refund policy, rules, and any other terms to participants.
You agree to handle participant data in accordance with applicable privacy laws and our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for the accuracy of all event information including dates, locations, fees, and format.

Payments

Tournament entry fees and league fees are processed through our payment processor, Stripe. By making a payment, you also agree to Stripe's terms.
Tournament and league fees are set by the tournament director, club, or organizer. PlayPCKL may charge a service fee, which will be disclosed before checkout.
Refund policies for tournament and league fees are set by the director, club, or organizer. Please review the event's or league's refund policy before registering.

League Organizers

If you organize a league on PlayPCKL:

You are responsible for your league's name, description, schedule, rules, and the messages you send to your players, and for keeping that information accurate.
Opening registration for a community league requires an active PlayPCKL Membership. If your membership ends, new registrations for your community leagues are paused; published play days and past results stay available.
You may use player contact information only to run your league, and you must handle it in accordance with applicable privacy laws and our Privacy Policy.

Content and Conduct

You are responsible for the content you add to PlayPCKL, including your name and profile, league and team names, league descriptions, and messages to other players. You keep ownership of it and give PlayPCKL permission to host and display it as needed to provide the Services.
Content must not be unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, threatening, or misleading, and must not infringe anyone's rights.
To report objectionable content or abusive behavior, email hello@playpckl.com. We review reports and may remove content, and suspend or close accounts, that violate these Terms.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation.
Interfere with or disrupt the Services or servers or networks connected to the Services.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services or other users' accounts.
Use automated means to access the Services without our permission.
Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
Use PlayPCKL text messages for advertising or promotions. Organizers may text players only about the leagues and tournaments they run.

Intellectual Property

The Services and all content, features, and functionality, other than content provided by users, are owned by PlayPCKL and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Services without our written permission.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve the Services without any obligation to you.

Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

PlayPCKL is a platform connecting players with tournament directors, clubs, and league organizers. We are not responsible for the conduct of directors, clubs, organizers, or players, the quality of events or leagues, or any disputes between users.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PlayPCKL shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Services.

If You Use Our iPhone App

If you download the PlayPCKL app from Apple's App Store, these additional terms apply:

These Terms are between you and PlayPCKL, not Apple. PlayPCKL, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
Your license to use the app is a limited, non-transferable license to use it on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Contact us for support at hello@playpckl.com.
If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
PlayPCKL, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, and claims that the app infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by posting a notice on our website or sending you an email. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
